James Potenziano Obituary

James "Jim" Potenziano passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28th, at Wilson Hospital, surrounded by the love of family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Jim is survived by his devoted partner of 40 years, Deborah Nolan; his three children, Anita Murphy (Steve Walts), Jim Potenziano Jr. (Wendy), and Steve Potenziano (Amanda); and five grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy: Tim Murphy, Taylor and Kendra Potenziano, and Santino and Rossi Potenziano. He is also survived by his brother Thomas, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in his heart.  The family would especially like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to Rick Watkins, who was like a son to Jim.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Santina Potenziano, and his two brothers, Anthony and Art.

A LIFE LIVED WITH PASSION

Jim Potenziano was a man who embraced life fully and shared his passions generously with everyone around him. For 45 years, he owned and operated the pro shop at Midway Lanes, where he became a fixture in the local bowling community. More than a business owner, Jim was a mentor, a friend, and a familiar face to generations of bowlers who walked through those doors. His expertise and love for the sport led him to compete professionally, and he took great pride in helping others perfect their game.
Beyond the lanes, Jim's hands were equally at home under the hood of a classic car. He had an artist's eye and a craftsman's touch when it came to building and restoring vintage automobiles.
The rumble of an engine brought him alive, and he spent countless hours drag racing—a pursuit that combined his love of speed, precision, and competition.
But above all, Jim loved people. He was fiercely devoted to Deborah and treasured every moment with his children and grandchildren. His warmth, humor, and genuine care for others drew people to him, and he never hesitated to show those he loved just how much they meant to him.
Jim Potenziano lived a full and vibrant life. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
