Janet M (Luce) Champoux-Wright

Janet M. Champoux-Wright, aged 84 of Windsor, passed away peacefully during the night on May 7, 2025.  Earlier in the day, she was surrounded at her beautiful hillside Windsor home by her loving husband of 35 years, Jerry Wright, two devoted children Tommy and Denise Champoux, her niece Sandra Warren, caregiver Michelle Gincerowski and other family members.  
Janet was born in Union, NY in 1940 to Sheldon and Marcia (Ogden) Luce.  She and her sisters Diane (Lunmark) and Genine (Patalumos) were raised by their mother Marcia and stepfather Benjamin Trelease in Tunnel NY then attended high school in Harpursville.  Shortly after graduation, Janet began her nearly 40-year career with the US Postal Service becoming Postmaster of Tunnel, NY before taking her final position as Postmaster of Windsor. 
Janet was talented stained-glass artisan gifting her loved ones with beautiful leaded-glass works over the years.  She and her husband Jerry enjoyed many years of boating on The Finger Lakes with their many friends as well as their annual trips to New York City for Broadway Shows, shopping and dining. 
In addition to her husband Jerry, children Tommy and Denise and niece Sandra, Janet is survived by grandchildren Jaime, Michael and Mark Smart, great grandchildren Bella and Jordan Smart as well as many nieces and nephews. 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robison St. Binghamton.  A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
