Jean Bonzek passed Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Born in 1939 to John and Lillian (Giguere) Thompson in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her parents and by: Billy Thompson, Russell Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Beverly (Leonard) Currier, George Momaney. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Bonzek Sr. She is also survived by: Margaret Bates, Walter (Pat) Thompson, Helen Momaney and Millie Thompson. She will be missed by the family of her son Richard (Carolyn) Bonzek Jr (grandchildren: Erin (Mitch), Megan, Emileigh, Matt, Amy (Dan), and Sarah; great grandchildren: Adilyn and Lucas) and by the families of her daughters Wendy (Donald) Hopkins (grandchildren: Brian, Chanda (Shane), Jennifer; great grandchildren: Arilyn, Blane, Addison), Karen Harvey (grandchildren: Stephen, Justin (Kora)), Paula (Gary) Finch. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She was an avid member of the Church of the Holy Family. Supported countless family, friends and strangers through the prayers in the chapel and other events at the church. After raising her children, she worked at Burts Department Store in Endicott, then at the cafeteria of Homer Brink School. Through her life, she enjoyed sewing, ceramics, knitting and crocheting. Jean also loved the walks in the neighborhood. She will be remembered for her love of family that she and her husband instilled in the rest of the family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Church of the Holy Family in Endwell. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until the time of the mass.
