Jodie A. Van Winkle

Kirkwood N.Y. – Jodie Ann Van Winkle peacefully transitioned into the arms of Our Lord Jesus on the afternoon of November 6, 2021, after a short courageous battle of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), that many did not know she was fighting. She lived a life for her family, friends and community. She will forever be remembered for her love, infectious smile, optimism, strong willed spirit, and passion for helping others. Jodie is predeceased by her family members who died before her from ALS. Robert Thurston (cousin) Vicky Borovicka (aunt), Lt. Colonel Rodrick Van Winkle (cousin), and Bradley Van Winkle (uncle). She will be deeply missed by her parents Joan and Leon Van Winkle; her children Kayla and Steven Henry; significant other Ron Henry; her sisters Dr. Heather Van Winkle and Amy Culler (Major Michael Culler) her aunts; Barbara Stemple (Jim Medwetz, Diane Felice, and Ann Rice; uncles Joe Reh, Mark Borovicka and her nieces, nephews and cousins who Jodie absolutely treasured. To everyone who knew her, she was considered an angel herself. Jodie loved making everyone’s day brighter. Jodie graduated from Susquehanna Valley High School and was employed by Catholic Charities for 22 years. A special thank you to Dr. Eufrosina Young & Dr. Jenny Meyer (SUNY Upstate ALS Clinic), Dr. Muhammad Imtiaz, Dr. Demetrios Gasparis, special friends and extended family; Janet, Doug, Doris, Eddy & Ella Shoemaker, Jean Fairbairn, Mickey Booth, Donata Armagno, Ann Silvestri, Kelly Diffendorf, Dawn Shafer, Srin Wolfram, Candice Aldrich, Tiffny Dumian, George & Kathy Bickham, and all of the Homayoon Family who she truly loved. A memorial service will be held at the Kirkwood United Methodist Church 255 Main St Kirkwood, N.Y. 13795 on Saturday, November 13th at 11am.
