John (Jack) L. Nichols, 94, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away June 8, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Mildred (Koppler) Nichols, his beloved wife, June, son, Jackie, grandson-in-law, Ed Mentz, brother George (Gene) Nichols and his dear friend Ruthie Cole. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl (Dennis) Feheley, Patty Nichols, Michelle (Gary) Talkiewicz and Leslie (Eric) Johnson. Ten grandchildren, Kerri Mentz, David (Julie) Feheley, Alex and Kyle Khalifa, Micah, Hannah, and Josiah Talkiewicz and Sam, Cooper and Daniel Johnson. Four great grandchildren, Shannon and Megan Mentz and Colin and Millie Feheley. Sisters, Barbara Smith and Eleanor Hayes. Brother-in-law Donald Hevland. Sisters-in-law, Charlotte Nichols and Miyuki Hilliard and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad worked for GE in Johnson City, Philadelphia, PA and Lynchburg, VA for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and Broome Tech. At Broome, Dad was a member of their first basketball team. Dad was an Army veteran of WWII. Dad was a lifelong Yankee fan and loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their activities. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1pm until 2pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Service will follow at 2pm. Services will be live streamed, www.sheafuneralhome.com/obituaries/Nichols. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
