Joseph Merrette, Jr.

Joseph Merrette Jr., beloved father and grandfather, died at the age of 92 on February 11, 2023. He is predeceased by his wife of 61 years Josephine and sister Jean Sklenarik and survived by his children Stephen (Graciela) Merrette, Michele (Erik) Shore, and foster daughter Rose Angeline, as well as 4 grandchildren Laura Valmy, Joseph Merrette, and Luke and Amanda Shore, and great-grandchild Moreina Valmy. He was a US Army Ranger veteran, serving with honors during the Korean War in the 5th Regiment of the 1st Calvary Division and was a member of the Korean Veterans Breakfast group/VFW/AMVETS/American Legion. He retired from IBM in Endicott after 32 years and a member of its Quarter Century Club. Most proudly, he was the first founding member of Visions Federal Credit Union in 1966 and retired from the Board of Directors after over 40 years of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
