Judith (Mollen) Cavanaugh

Judith (Judy) Cavanaugh, 77, of Binghamton, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Palliative Care Unit (PCU) at General Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving husband James, brother Robert Mollen and parents Robert and Marion Mollen. Judy is survived by her two loving sons Tim (Meagan) Cavanaugh; and Tom Cavanaugh, 5 grandsons Aidan, Logan, Tegan, Rowan, and Nolan. Judy is also survived by a sister-in-law Patty Mollen, Linda (Lou) Shaffer, Tammy (Rick) Betts, and a brother-in-law Jerry Cavanaugh along with many nieces and nephews.

Judy loved her children, adored her grandchildren; never missing an opportunity to spend time with them, she was an avid reader, and passionate about gardening and baking. She had a knack for remembering important dates and giving heartfelt, sentimental gifts to those she loved. She would give you the shirt off her back while expecting nothing in return.

Judy worked for the Susquehanna Valley School District for over 20 years as a secretary at Brookside Elementary where she touched the lives of her coworkers with kindness, caring, and compassion on a daily basis.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 8th at 10 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church located at 282 Chenango St in Binghamton. The family will receive friends and family from 8:30 AM - 10 AM. Burial will follow immediately following the mass at Calvary Cemetery.
