Julie Ann Steele, beloved mother and friend, passed away after her long fight with cancer on February 10th, 2026 at the age of 57 years old. She was surrounded by her loving family at Guthrie Hospital. Sayre, Pennsylvania.
Born on June 26th, 1968 in Sidney, NY, Julie was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Siewers and sister to John Siewers, James Siewers (sister in-law; Vicki Siewers), and Joseph Siewers. She grew up in Ninevah, NY and graduated from Afton High School in 1987. She continued her education at Genesee Community College, where she earned her Associate’s degree of Arts and Sciences. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science from Buffalo State University.
Julie built a remarkable professional career spanning more than 35 years in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, where she became widely respected for her dedication, leadership, and genuine care for others. Throughout her career, she served in key roles with organizations including Adecco Staffing, TAD Staffing Services, Randstad Sourceright, Spherion Staffing Services, Guthrie Hospital, and Visions Federal Credit Union, where she most recently worked as a Talent Acquisition and Retention Manager. Julie was a proud recipient of multiple professional certifications, including the Certified Professional and Talent Acquisition Specialty credentials from Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), as well as certification from FranklinCovey. A hardworking and compassionate leader, Julie was deeply committed to developing others, supporting her teams, and helping people find meaningful careers. Her professionalism, kindness, and passion for her work left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.
Throughout her life, Julie was a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She married Timothy Steele on September, 1992, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Together, they raised 3 children: Troy, Jordyn, and Taylor, who will forever be grateful for her love, guidance, and support.
Julie had a passion for traveling for her children’s sports, reading, volleyball, snowmobiling with her husband and kids, going to the beach, camping, landscaping and maintaining her flower beds, and relaxing by the lake with friends taking in the sunshine and warmth, all of which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm.
She was known for her outgoing, personable, and pragmatic demeanor where she made friends with everyone, everywhere she went. Her infectious personality and contagious laugh will always be remembered by those who knew her best.
In addition to her children, Julie is survived by many other relatives, including her parents-in-law Ronald and Rosalie Steele, and her many friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Julie’s memory to the American Cancer Society, which was close to her heart.
