June Marie Burford passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on August 24, 1937, in Bainbridge, New York, to Ken and Geraldine Aylesworth.
June shared 67 wonderful years with her loving husband, Tom Burford. Together, they raised five children: Diana Kenyon (Butch), Jan Burford (Roisin), Marc Burford (Tami), Jim Burford (Sunny Gu), and Britt Jackson (Don).
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jarin, Tara, Rachel, Erin, Ken, Krystal, Lauren, Cody, Tommy, J.D., and Riley. June was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Pax, Eloise, Finn, Mena, Camryn, and Poppy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she took great pride in watching each of them grow.
June held a variety of roles throughout her life, but the position she cherished most came after raising her children—working as a real estate agent. For over 25 years, she brought warmth and honesty to every client and every home, building lasting relationships along the way.
Outside of her family, June found joy in many activities, including traveling the country with Tom in their RV, exploring the world, bowling, her love for plants and flowers, and engaging with the Conklin Red Hat Society, where she shared many laughs and lasting friendships. She also had a knack for antiques, turning badly worn/damaged pieces into beautiful family heirlooms.
June created a home (with Tom) that epitomized her love of her family. Her home was the center of every holiday, special event and nearly every Sunday. She would enjoy a little wine or Bud Light over an afternoon of cards, which always led to laughter/giggling. This was just her being the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend anyone could ask for.
Extended family and friends may call at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., in Binghamton, NY on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 11am to 12pm with a service to follow by the Reverend Monsignor Meagher at 12pm.
June will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
