Kevin R. Kittinger was born on November 23, 1969 in Johnson City, NY and adopted by Ken and Kay Kittinger on February 13, 1970 through Broome County Social Services. When Kevin was in school, he was active in Boy Scouts, Little League, the high school band and was on the Binghamton High School swim and diving teams before graduating in 1988. He continued his education earning his A.A.S. in Chemical Engineering from Broome Community College in 1991 and a B.S. in Exercise Science from University of Buffalo in 1994. While in Buffalo he was a personal trainer and painter. From 1995-2000 he owned and operated Kittinger Professional Painting in Cortland, NY. For thirty years Kevin bravely endured mental illness and died on May 7, 2025 due to complications from its effects.
Surviving Kevin are his mother, Kay Zaharis of Cortland, NY; his sister Kim Kittinger of Roswell, GA; his aunt and uncle, Ron and Carole Marie Cardamone of New Hartford, NY; his uncle Skip Boise of Baldwinsville, NY; cousins, Allyson Boise, Tom Boise, Julie Cardamone Forscht and many 2nd cousins.
Kevin’s body was an Anatomical Gift to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse, NY to help students in the medical field. There are no services. Any donations may be made to Broome County Mental Health in Kevin’s name.
Arrangements have been through THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME in Binghamton, NY on Binghamton’s East side where Kevin spent his childhood.
