Kirk Steinbrecher Obituary

Kirk William Steinbrecher, 52, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday September 6. He is survived by his partner and love of his life, Michele Gibson, his children Colten, NYC, Carter, Candra and Corbin, Jacksonville , Florida.  Also surviving are his mother, Marcia Steinbrecher and his brothers Earl Steinbrecher (Catherine Konopelky) and Eric Steinbrecher.  Kirk was predeceased by his father Earl Steinbrecher.

Kirk enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, running, biking and playing pool.  He loved spending time on the river, especially at his brother’s cottage, where he would enjoy clam bakes and the view. Kirk graduated from Windsor Central High School and SUNY Cortland with a Masters Degree in Physical Education.  During his high school years, Kirk was very active in varsity sports. After college, he remained committed to physical fitness, running and biking and participating in local races with his father, brothers and son.  Kirk was a loving and devoted father to his children.  He was also the best son and brother and would always be there for them.  Kirk had a great sense of humor and a unique smirk when joking with his friends and family.  He loved going for wings and beer with his close friends and brothers and did that just a week before his death.  Kirk absolutely adored his girlfriend Michele, and truly loved her. He always had a twinkle in his eye anytime she was around him.  She was devoted to him too, helping him to enjoy his life every day.  Over the last 25 years, Kirk worked for the Children’s Home of the Wyoming Conference and Broome Tioga BOCES.  He was Assistant Principle at Columbus School as well as a Physical Eduction Teacher at Chenango Forks Schools. Kirk also leaves behind many friends and colleagues that were very close to him.
