Lucia (DiRenzo) Melchiorre

Lucia Melchiorre - DiRenzo
Born May 1, 1938 in Bucchianco, Italy.
She passed away in her sleep at Willow Point Rehabilitation Center to be one of God's angels on November 9, 2023.

Lucia was an active member of St. Mary's Assumption Church and of the Woman's Abruzzes Club. She had a heart of gold and treated everyone as family. She was caring, loving and funny. She was loved by many and left an imprint on the heart of those she met. For those that got to meet her, it was an experience and for those that got to know her, it was an honor and a cherished memory.
Her loss will be felt far and wide by family, friends, nursing home staff and many, many others. 
She is predeceased by her husband, of 38 years, Pietro Melchiorre; her parents, Giustino and Maria DiRenzo; and two siblings, Corey DiRenzo and Lina DiRenzo. 
She is survived by her four children: Elena Melchiorre, Angela Melchiorre, AnnaRita and Michael Addario, P. Antonio Melchiorre; ten grandchildren: Amanda Rupp, Thomas Rupp, Angela Wayman, Diane Wayman, Danielle Wayman, Michael Wayman, Kirstine and James Lozinak, Reanna and Luke Biskup, Connor Furman, Antonio Melchiorre; three great grandchildren: Lucian Decker, Kara and Maizie Lozinak.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton.  The family will receive friends at the church from 9am until the time of Mass. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Building Fund in Lucia's memory.
