Luciano (Louie) Vesci, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 10, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Angela Vesci and his sister Tina Farrell. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen O’Neil Vesci; his children: Marc; Paul (Carrie) and Nicholas; his seven grandchildren: Mea, Zola, Lauren, Madeline, Vaughn, Ronin, and Vera. He is also survived by his brothers: Tony (Linda) and Leo (Kathy). Louie was born in Nicastro, Italy, and immigrated to Binghamton in 1955. He began an early career at Nelson Ellis Furniture at the age of 16, working there for sixty years only taking a short four-year break to serve in the United States Navy. It was at Nelson Ellis where he met his wife, Helen, whom he adored. They were married in 1972 and spent their lives raising a family in Chenango Bridge. One of his greatest passions was watching the New York Giants every Sunday afternoon. From an early age, Louie learned the trade of carpentry from his father, and over the course of his life built furniture and single-handedly added multiple additions and renovations to not only his own home, but his sons’ homes as well. Louie, also known as “Grandpa” loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, as they were the center of his world. Louie will be remembered as a kind, generous, loving, humble and hardworking family man who dedicated his life to his family.
