Madeline V. (Basti) Schrader

    Madeline V. Schrader, 75, of Binghamton, passed away on December 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Clara Basti, her sisters Felicia Svoboda, Dolores Gross, Laura Gill, Rosita DiIorio, and Anthony Basti. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Philip, son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Wendy Garris, daughter Lisa Ann Garris and stepchildren Sandra and James Moore and Julie and William Geyer. She is survived by her grandchildren Vincent, Natalie, Madeline Palermo, Luke and Nicholas Garris. She is also survived by siblings Nicoletta Giorgio, Peter Basti, Nicholas Basti, Carmella Hranek, and Anita Tino.
Madeline was a generous and loving wife, mother, godmother, grandmother and friend who brightened everyone’s day with her beautiful smile and boundless energy.  Nicknamed “Mrs. Clean” for her enthusiasm for sparkling surroundings.  She was a devoted member of The Parish of Saints John & Andrew.  She retired after more than ten years at the New York State Insurance Fund.
We welcome family and friends to Saints John & Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:30 am at Saints John & Andrew Church.  Following the Mass there will be a funeral procession to Calvary Cemetery, 501 Fairview Street, Johnson City, New York.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905 in her memory.
