Majorie A. (Scott) Potter

Marjorie A. Potter, 79, passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2022, with her family by her side. Marge was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard, her parents Robert and Betty Scott and brother, Robert Scott.  She is survived by her sons: Jeffrey and Deborah Potter, (Aubrey, TX) and David Potter, (Norwich, NY); grandchildren: James Drake (Binghamton), Stephanie (Clark) Steffens (The Colony, TX), Jason and Jazmine Potter (Norwich, NY); great-grandchildren: Drake Elizabeth and Wilson James Steffens; her brother Richard and Christine Scott; sister-in-law: Diane Scott; Aunts:  Mickey Nichols and Marge Darrow; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Marge graduated from Binghamton North High School and the Binghamton General Hospital School of Nursing where she worked until 1970.  She was employed by the American Red Cross Blood Bank for many years before retiring in 1999.  Her love of the Saint Lawrence River and Thousand Islands where she and Dick had a summer camp, was her happy place.  She enjoyed 22 cruises with Dick to various places throughout their retirement.   She was known as the “Hostess with the Mostess” and the “Queen of Everything”.  She enjoyed spending time at their camp with her family, holidays with all the Scott crew, July 4th cookouts, fashion and, most important, shopping.  She needed no excuse for a new outfit.  The family would like to thank the entire staff at Good Shepherd Fairview Home and Good Shepherd Village for the outstanding care they gave mom even when she was being feisty or difficult.  The family will receive friends at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC, 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY 13904, Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11am with Pastor Joyce Allen, officiant.  A private burial will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
