Margaret "Marge" Simkulet, of Binghamton, N.Y., 99 born July 29, 1925, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on March 25, 2025. Marge was a spunky woman of unwavering faith, who's privacy, and independence were of utmost importance. She was employed by GAF/Ansco for many years, a job she enjoyed. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Simkulet, siblings George, William, Michael, Andrew, John, Helen, Mary, and Anne. Marge is survived by her sister Lillian Carros, several nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends William and Candace Salansky. Marge is also survived by her very special friends Matt and Karen Hawley. Matt and Marge struck up a friendship like no other, eleven years ago. Matt would check in on Marge continually, to help her retain independence and living at home. She loved chatting, getting "supper" at Red Robin or turkey dinners from the Park Diner and running errands. Marge quickly became a loved and treasured part of the Hawley family, she looked forward to and enjoyed immensely, joining in on get togethers, and holidays. We will carry these memories within our hearts, forever. "Bye for now, Marge!"
We are grateful to the 4th Floor staff at Susquehanna Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, for their attentive care.
A Funeral Service will be at 11am on April 5, 2025 at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton.
