MARGARET ELLEN STARLEY It is with deep sadness that the passing of Margaret Ellen (Maggie) Starley is announced, who departed this life on June 3rd at the age of 71 after a long illness. She was predeceased by her parents Esther Comstock Starley and George Starley, and siblings, Gerald, George, Kathleen, and Eldon (Jimmy). She is survived by her other siblings Larry Starley of Binghamton, Mary West of Windsor, and Patty Hahn of Windsor, cousins Betsy and Tim Rice, Ginny and Dale Gabel of Painted Post, and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. Maggie was born on January 6, 1954 in Binghamton, NY where she was a lifelong resident. She loved the Giants, music, reading, playing cards, and discussing world affairs. She enriched the lives of those around her with her generosity, feistiness, gift of gab, and vibrant spirit. She graduated from North High School in 1971. She earned her Associate's Degree in 1995 as a paralegal while working at AT&T where she started when she was just 17. She became a union steward at 19 and was never afraid to join the picket line to stand up for her beliefs. Her life was marked by a passionate love of animals especially her beloved pets Weekend, Samson, Delilah, Frankie, Cody, Opie, and Rainie. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to The Humane Society on Conklin St. Binghamton, NY. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
