Marie Elaine Hein 12/6/46-11/18/22
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother lost a courageous battle with cancer on November 18th 2022. Marie married Robert Hein September 17th 1966. Best friends, they enjoyed 56 years of love and marriage.
Marie is pre-deceased by her parents, Walter and Jean Palmer and in-laws Edward and Donna Hein. Marie is survived by siblings Robert Palmer (Stan) Joanne Palmer, and John Palmer (Rita), her daughter Lisa (Brian) Reardon and son Robert  (Karen) Hein. Marie is also survived by grandchildren Kaitlyn (Mac), Courtney (Charlie), Karina (John), Cody, and Billy, and great-grandchildren Alexander, Clara, Johnny and Lilah, as well as sisters in-law Nancy (Dick) Alston, Susan (Dan) Golden, brother-in-law Joe (Lori) Hein, and much loved nieces and nephews.
Marie was a 1965 graduate of Susquehanna Valley High School and continued friendships from those years.
Marie loved family vacations at Cayuga Lake and Lake Ontario. In 1978, Marie and Bob and the kids moved to Vinton Virginia where they enjoyed wonderful times as a family, taking many a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. Marie and Bob spent their winters at Camelot in Malabar Florida with many friends including close friends Wayne and Sandy Krug.
Marie began her career at Graybar Electric in Vinton Virginia and made many job advancements until she retired from Square D Electric Company after 30 years. Marie loved spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, reading, crocheting, bocce ball with their Camelot friends,and a succession of Golden Retrievers including Sam, Rusty, Ben, Sam II, Charlie, and Sophie.
 Marie brought Christmas magic to her family and so many memories surround the holidays.  Marie was famous for her red velvet cakes, and her love of Wind Song perfume.
Marie will be greatly missed by all that were touched by her infectious smile and laughter. The hole left by Marie's absence will be felt by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2pm to 3pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton NY 13904.  A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm.
