Marilyn Maume Obituary

Marilyn (Crowe) Maume 100 years of age passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 at her home.
She was predeceased by her husband Kevin in 1954, brother John Crowe and sister-in-law Clara.  She is survived by daughters Sally (Thomas) Stevens, Majorie (John) Langevin and son John (Lorraine) Maume; grandchildren Craig (Alison) Stevens, Gary (Jessica) Stevens, Kevin (Lauren) Langevin, John (Murphy) Langevin, Lauren (Greg) Peterson, Jeffrey Maume; great grandchildren Zachary, Ava, Magnolia, Grace, Hailey, Kamryn, Madeline, and Grace.
Marilyn graduated from St. Paul’s High School and later in life perfected her secretarial skills at Ridley Lowell; was employed by YWCA and retired in 1986 after 20 years of service to the Binghamton City School District.
Connection with family and friends was her most desired wish.  Lifelong friends and neighbors, particularly the DeSantis family, were tremendously important to her happiness.  She loved photography, creating albums, music, dance, summer gardening, and front porch time.  Her favorite destinations were Oneida and Cayuga Lakes, trips to New York City, Miami, and Hawaii.
Memories of Marilyn are full of generosity, acceptance, independence and understanding which she practiced throughout life.

She was able to remain at home because of the care and attention given to her by wonderful caregivers who treated her with love and respect. Heartfelt thanks to each of them for their kindness: Trish, Shelar, Ginette, Alaa, Erica, and Tammy.  A special thank you to St. Paul’s Pastoral Care and Hospice for their support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10am. The family will receive friends from 9am to 10am at St. Paul’s Church, 282 Chenango St., Binghamton.
Memorials may be made in Marilyn’s name to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13790 www.mercyhousesoutherntier.com or Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903 bchumanesoc.com.
