Marion Phelps (Hurlburt) Weaver passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021 at Ideal Senior Living Center at the age of 94.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Bill Weaver in 2007, and parents Ivan and Catherine Hurlburt. She was also predeceased by her Brothers Rexford, Robert, Ivan, Charles, Carl, Jayward, and David; Sisters JoAnn, Jean, and Jane.
Mom is survived by her sons Walt (Marilyn), Bill (Janine), Wayne; Grandsons Mike (Erin), James (Laure), and Jason (Amanda); Great grandchildren Bryan, Bridgette, Ethan, and Miles; Brothers Allen, Roland, and Ralph; Sisters Joyce, Janice, Jean, and Judy; Brother in-law Albert Weaver of Leesburg, Florida; Special niece Linda Viele in Syracuse who remained closed to mom in her later years; plus dozes of other nieces and nephews. Mom was the oldest girl in a large farming family of 17 children in Harpursville. She was a hard-working farm girl at heart – and that work ethic remained throughout her entire life. She worked in various restaurant positions, ran the rectory and kitchen at St. Paul’s Church, and helped in the cafeteria at St. Catherine’s School. Mom liked gardening (called it digging in the dirt), baking (lucky for her family and friends), sewing, Bingo and her wine. She was also an avid and talented bowler in her younger years, including success in the local Press Tournament, and several appearances in a locally televised bowling tournament show.
The family would like to thank everyone at Ideal Senior Living Center for their care, compassion, and support during mom's 8 1/2 years in residence there.
