Mary I Sherwood
Obituary
Mary I Sherwood, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 1, 2022 after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 69 years Dr. Donald K. “Doc” Sherwood; parents Clayton and Elizabeth Castle; sister Betty Gates and brother Clyde Castle. She is survived by her devoted sons Donald, Steve and David; brother-in-law Bill Sherwood; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nephews Richard Castle, Jeff Gates; niece Holly Gates and her second family from The Binghamton Animals Hospital.
Mary and her husband Dr. Donald Sherwood owned the Binghamton Animal Hospital from 1961-2001 along with many other businesses. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the I care Home Care Company for taking such good care of Mary.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hawleyton Cemetery.
