Mary Ann Carissimo-Cline passed away with her loved ones by her side on November 25, 2025 at UHS Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
She was a beloved wife, stepmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and girlfriend. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Mary Ann was born in Belleville, NJ on April 2, 1956 to Raymond and Susan Carissimo, the oldest of six children.
She graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in biology and from Northwestern University Dental School, Chicago, IL.
Mary Ann moved to Johnson City, NY to join Oakdale Denter Center and later worked for Carpathin Dental before opening her own practice in Whitney Point, NY in 2003.
Mary Ann retired from practicing dentistry in January 2023.
She was a devoted member of her church choir at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kirkwood. She was a true Renaissance woman who loved music, excelled at trivia and knew her way around the kitchen.
Her intelligence was only surpassed by her warmth and humanity.
She loved her family, her husband Chuck, stepson Adam, all of her 15 nieces and nephews along with 8 great nieces and nephews.
She was a long-suffering Jets fan and tolerated the Green Bay Packers for her husband.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Charles N. Cline, her stepson Adam Cline (Lisa), her mother-in-law Gladys Cline, her sister-in-law Teresa Mishoe (Scott), her brother-in-law Michael Cline (Juanita), her siblings Diane Fortino (Michael), Susan Barr (Tim), Gina Furci (Agostino), Joseph Carissimo (Anna), Lisa Fleming (John) and her many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Susan Carissimo and her father-in-law Charles F. Cline.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be at 11am on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at St. Mary’s Church in Kirkwood. Her final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery in Kirkwood, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Mary Ann’s memory.
