Mary Patricia (Heslin) Fox

Mary Patricia (Heslin) Fox, 89, of Binghamton, died on April 25, 2023 at home.  She was predeceased by her husband, Richard T. Fox in 2004.  She is also predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary (Cooney) Heslin, brothers James (Red) Heslin, Robert Heslin, Eugene (Tunney) Heslin, and Michael Heslin and her sisters Eileen McNamara and Kathleen Hahn Collett.

She is survived by her brother Thomas (Mary) Heslin.  She is also survived by her children, Martin (Bernadette) Fox, Eileen Fox, Christine (Michael) Hoke, Jennifer (W. Daniel) Sullivan, and Brian (Jacqueline) Fox.  Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren:  Mary Bridget, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Murugan, Rani, Mukta, Kittu, Daniel, Matthew, Brian, Megan, Kevin, Colleen and Maura, as well as seven great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, here and in Ireland.

She was employed by Lourdes Hospital and SUNY-Binghamton, and after her retirement worked at the Broome County Property Tax Office.

She was very proud of her Irish heritage and was honored as the Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1995.

Calling hours will be held at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home on Friday, April 28 from 4-7 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Sts. John and Andrew, 1263 Vestal Ave., Binghamton Saturday at 9:30 am.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
