Miriam (Gonzalez) Hughes

Miriam Hughes, 72, of Kirkwood, NY, passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2023.  Miriam was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived most of her adult life in Kirkwood, NY.  She is predeceased by her parents, Gabriel and Ramona Gonzalez.  Miriam is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Hughes; her two children Lorenzo Cordero (Vickie) and Jennifer Gabriel (Adam); her six grandchildren, Lorenzo Cordero Jr, Adam Doing, Morgan Doing, Andy Doing, Ada Gabriel, and Jack Gabriel; in addition to many family members and friends.  Miriam enjoyed working with children and was employed at a daycare for many years.  She devoted her life to taking care of her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Miriam will be remembered for always thinking of others and ending every conversation with "love you all." 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY 13904.  A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10am on Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Kirkwood.   Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
