Nicholas Conrow Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share that Nicholas James Conrow, 29, of Kirkwood, passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2026.

Nick was born on March 19, 1997, and grew up in Kirkwood, a place he always called home. From the very beginning, he was wild, strong-willed, and full of energy—a spirit that never dimmed as he grew older.

Nick had a way about him that people will never forget. He was often the first to greet you—with a big smile, an even bigger hug, and usually something that would make you laugh. He had an infectious laugh of his own, a big heart, and a warmth that made people feel immediately comfortable and welcome. He was known for his humor, his energy, and yes—his sailor’s mouth—but more than anything, for how deeply he cared about the people around him. He also had a legendary obsession with Gatorade—so much so that anyone who knew him would tell you he probably bled orange.

Nick worked at R. DeVincentis Construction, where he took pride in his work and the people he worked alongside.

What mattered most to Nick was simple—being with the people he loved. He cherished time with his family, his friends, and his beloved cats, Zuko and Jett. He would do anything for anyone, without hesitation.

Nick loved sports, whether it was watching or playing, especially hockey, football, and baseball. He had a deep love for baseball—especially the New York Yankees, a passion he shared with his grandmother, Kathy Hall. He was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Steelers, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than watching a game, talking about it, and sharing that excitement with the people around him.

Nick leaves behind his parents, Jim and Corinne Conrow; his sister, Taylor Conrow (Nate Aylward); his grandmother, Helga Vest; his godparents, Robert Graby and Betty Vest; and his many aunts and uncles: MaryLou (Dave) Cherinko, Rick (Kris) Conrow, Danielle (Tom) Pratt, Norm Vest (Betty), and Ron Vest. He is also survived by his cousins, Jared and Christina Vest, Makenna and Samantha Pratt, and Austin and Rylie Conrow.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Grandpa “Bud” Hall, Grandma “KB” Hall, and Grandpa Wolfgang Vest.

He also leaves behind countless friends in Binghamton and North Carolina who were lucky enough to know him and call him theirs.

Family and friends are invited to Shea Funeral Home, 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY, on Friday, June 5th, for visiting hours from 12:00–2:00 PM, followed by a service from 2:00–3:00 PM.
