On March 22, 2023 Norman E. White (94) made his journey to be with the love of his life Alice, they are no doubt dancing and holding hands never to be parted again. He is also reunited with his son Billy whom he has missed for so long, also his parents, sister and brother-in-law. Norm became a telephone installer for the New York Telephone Co. right out of high school then was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and assigned to the 969th Engineering Corp. in Austria. Upon returning to the states, he resumed his job at the phone company until his retirement. He then fulfilled his dream of owning his own communications company, Executone of the Southern Tier. Norm had extremely strong work ethic both at work and home, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone if needed. Norm is survived by his loving daughter Pami Puzio and devoted son-in-law Thomas, his two grandchildren, of whom he was so proud, Shannon (Michael) Vavalle and Adam Puzio, cherished great-grandchildren Ariana and Charlotte Vavalle, as well as family friend Eleanor Carson and his constant companion “Boots”. Dad was a true gentleman who loved and cherished his family and will be incredibly missed. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Oxford Veterans Home for the kindness and care you gave my dad, you were all a true blessing to him and our family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13904. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in New Hartford at the family’s convenience.
