Paul F. Pastorok passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, following a period of declining health. He was born on July 28, 1951, in Binghamton, NY, the son of the late Mary Frances (Fiacco) and Paul Pastorok. He was predeceased by his loving son, Thomas, who died tragically at age 13 in a vehicular accident. Paul is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law, three sons, a daughter-in law, and five grandchildren: Andrea Marie Pastorok McGuire, and Thomas Landry and Linzy wrey McGuire, Ottawa, IL; Eric Pastorok, Owego, NY; Anna Mae Matthews (Brandon) and Asher, Bella, and Charlotte, Corsica, PA; Luke Pastorok, Clarion, PA; and Adam Pastorok (Elizabeth), New Bethlehem, PA. Paul also is survived by three loving sisters, 2 brothers-in-law and 10 nieces and nephews: Morning Slayter, New York City, and Sebastian (Chelsea) and Iris and Poppy Slayter, Atlantic Highlands, NJ; Andrea Reader (Jonathan), Wycoff, NJ. and Celeste Pearlman, Los Alamos, CA, and Alexis Crawford (Brian) and Cyrus and Dove, Vallejo, CA; Monica Pastorok (Stephen A. Cohen), Lexington MA, and Jocelyn Cohen Doman (Christopher) and Luca and Elio Doman, New York City; and Alexander Pastorok Cohen, Boston, MA.
Paul grew up in Binghamton, NY, surrounded by a close and loving extended family. As an adult he worked for 29 years at the Binghamton Post Office. Paul was a dedicated worker and a friend to everyone. He inherited his mother’s love of sports, especially the New York Yankees, and her excellent Italian cooking. After retiring from the Post Office, Paul and his family moved to Hamburg, NY, where he began his own catering company. As Paul’s health began to fail, he moved to a nursing home in Sligo, PA, near his children, where he lived for several years before moving to another facility in Coraopolis, PA. In late February 2024, Paul was placed on hospice care, and he died peacefully two weeks later.
At his request, Paul was interred at Calvary Cemetery, 501 Fairview St., Johnson City, NY, in a mausoleum close to his late parents. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saints Cyril & Methodius Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton, NY at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
