Raniero Mastronardi Obituary

Raniero “Ronny” Mastronardi, 85, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on April 11, 2026. 

Born in Torrice, Italy in 1940, he immigrated here as a teenager, where he quickly began working and building a life for himself. Known as a hard worker, he earned a reputation for his exceptional concrete work.

He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Felicetta Mastronardi and his siblings Rosina, Filomena, and Luigi.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Giovanna Mastronardi; four sons Tony, Danny, James and John (Andrea) Mastronardi; grandchildren Dante, Anthony, Lili, and Luke; brothers Nick and Angelo and brother-in-law Luigi; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  Ronny enjoyed gardening, Formula 1, soccer, his visits to the Sons of Italy and walks at McArthur Park.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Bonnie Emilio, Sefali Bhutwala, Angela Savo and the caring staff at Bridgewater.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul/Blessed Sacrament Church in Vestal. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11:45 am at the church.  Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Upstate Cerebral Palsey, 125 Business Park Drive, Utica NY, 13502, please indicate 120 Brookley Scalzo on the memo line. Donations will benefit the residential living center for children with autism and other special needs, where Ronny’s grandson, Dante Mastronardi, resides.
