Robert J. (Bob) Giblin, 92, reluctantly left his family on Saturday, August 12, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mabel (Brainard) Giblin, his sisters Bea Shanahan and Elizabeth Slater, and his brother, John. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Judy and his cherished daughters and their spouses, D. Suzanne (Martin) Millard and Diane (Lynn) Burdick, as well as 3 grandchildren of whom he was very proud, and 5 beautiful great-grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and loving friends.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean War, serving on the destroyer USS Braine in the Formosa Straights. He retired from Vail Ballou Press after 30+ years of service. He was an avid (and talented) golfer and runner, participating in many marathons. His glass was always at least half-full and he enjoyed his life greatly, as everyone enjoyed him.
Thank you to our neighbor, Richard, for his constant help. Also thank you to nurses Heather and Beth in UHS ER.
Visiting hours will be at 10:00 on Monday, August 21st, at First Congregational Church, 30 Main Street, Binghamton, followed by a service at 11. Burial will be in Afton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local veteran's charity. Arrangements are by Albert J. DeMarco in care of the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC.
