Robert King Obituary

Robert “Bob” King passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 with his family by his side.  Bob showed courage battling serious medical issues in recent years, but you would never hear him complain.  Bob served in the United States Army and then the Army Reserves until December 1974.  He also dedicated 35 years of service in various positions at NYSEG.  Bob had many hobbies and loved spending time hunting, fishing or working outdoors with family and friends.  He loved traveling and went on many adventures throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his loving sons, James (Melissa) and Ronald (Jennifer).  He is also survived by the joys of his life, his grandsons Hunter (Antoinette), Sethan and Hayden King.  Bob and his grandsons shared a special bond and spent a great deal of time helping each other, fishing and finding adventures.  He is also survived by many friends, family and a special friend later in life, Carole Ippinger. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean, his brothers Charles and Richard, along with his parents Monroe and Constance.

Bob will be missed by all that knew him.  The void we feel is large, but our memories are larger and he will forever be in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25,2024 from 11:00 until the time of the funeral at 12:30.  Visiting hours and funeral will be at Thomas J. Shea funeral home on Robinson St, Binghamton, NY.
