Ronald M. DiPietro, “Noz,” 86, of Endicott, NY, passed away at home on April 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his father, Larry DiPietro, and his mother, Mary Fiato. Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose, their seven children: Pam (Jerry) Smith, Jodi (Scott) Alapeck, Leslie (Dan) Sinclair, Marty (Kate) DiPietro, Carrie (Steve) Wiseman, Andrea (Todd) Russo, and Andy (Lindsay) DiPietro; his grandchildren: Lindsey (Mike) Lennon, Bridget, Ben, and Natalie Alapeck, Alison, Abigail, and Joey DiPietro, Giana and Jack Wiseman, Presley and Giovanni DiPietro, and Cecelia Russo; one great-grandson, Michael Ronald Lennon; as well as his sister, Jeanne (Ken) Beppler, and brothers, Alex (Joanne) and Jim (Deidre) Fiato; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was a 1953 graduate of Union-Endicott High School. He was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy on USS Pictor AF-54, from 1953 to 1956. Ron took these skills he learned in the service to work as a plumber with the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 112, where he was a member for over 50 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1700, and a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Church. Ron loved to have Sunday dinners and go on summer vacations with his family. Ron and Rose were lucky enough to spend 25 years in Florida during the winter months, creating many happy memories with their fellow Endicott “snowbirds.” He spent time vegetable gardening and cooking for his family; he was an avid Giants fan and history buff. But none of this compared to what Ron enjoyed most—being around his family, who will miss him endlessly.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11am from St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Ave., Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are with THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC.
