Sally M (Reardon) Lange, 85, Binghamton, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at UHS General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Agnes Reardon, her husband, Robert A. Lange in 1994, her siblings and their spouses: Betty (Harold), Bud (Roe), Dorothy (Knobby), Jim (Mary), and Tom (Missy).
Sally was devoted to her Catholic faith, her family, and her Irish heritage. Sally became an aunt at the age of two and held a lifetime friendship with her first niece and her husband, Diane and Jay Casper, Vestal, for which they shared much love, joy, and laughter through tears. She shared unyielding love, guidance, strength, and quick wit with her six children: Patty (Dale) Carmichael, Williston, VT, Sharon (Dave) Pulz, Binghamton, Dennis (Kathleen) Lange, Binghamton, Sue Lange, Endwell, Joanne (Gary) Huntley, Conklin, and Steve (Lisa) Lange, Endwell. Sally adored her eleven grandchildren: Rick Gheen, Kristin (Tanner) Palmer, Ryan (Natalie) Carmichael, Mandy (Joey) Barnier, Matt (Tara) Lange, Emily (Jesse) Frystak, Devante (Mercedez) Wright, Connor Lange, Malakhi Wright, Nicholas Lange and Julia Lange. And she cherished her thirteen great-grandchildren: Payton, Mina, Gigi, Jack, Deacon, David, Kami, Joey, Griffin, Everett, Nova, Emmett and Presley. Her quip, “I’ve been surrounded by kids my entire life” was no exaggeration.
Family and friends are invited to call on January 9, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Thomas J Shea Funeral Home, Inc., at 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church on January 10, 2025, at 10 AM. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the doctors, nurses and aides at Wilson and General hospitals for the care and compassion shown to Sally and family over the past couple of months. In addition, they are also appreciative of specific individuals who combined care with love, laughter, and friendship during her stay at a nursing facility these past two years.
