Shirley Smallwood Obituary

Shirley Smallwood, 83, of Binghamton, NY passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 unexpectedly.  She was predeceased by her husband Jake Smallwood, her son Kevin Main, her grandson Timothy Wilcox, her mother Isabel Karpel and her father Frank Karpel, her sisters Beverly Pryme, and Frances MacDowall.  She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Wilcox and husband Jim, her daughter-n-law Sandy Main, her 5 grandchildren Bill, Bob (Stacee wife), Joe, Cathy Wilcox and Kenneth Main; 5 Great grandchildren Caleb, Isabelle, Evy, Everett, and Aivyn.  She had several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. Her niece Callie was like a daughter to her.  Shirley was married for 36 years and was employed by AT&T for 37 years.  Anyone that knew Shirley will vouch that she loved her trips to Tioga Downs and during the pandemic making her trips to the local stores for her scratch offs.  She was proud of her home looking like a picture out of Home & Gardens.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church 192 Court St. Binghamton, NY.  Friends may call at the church 8:45-9:15 a.m. prior to the service.  Shirley will be dearly missed by her family and all those that knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s.
