Thomas J. Capozzi

Thomas J. Capozzi, Age 77, of Johnson City, New York, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on February 7, 2025. 
He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Grace Capozzi; his in laws Joseph and Josephine Terregrossa. 
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Antonette; His daughters, who were his life and loved so dearly,  Cristin (Todd) Plourde of Binghamton, New York, Amy Francone and Todd Francone, of Bedford, Massachusetts; his grandsons, who were his pride and joy, Nathan and Noah Plourde, Nicholas and Lucas Francone;  Tom also leaves behind his extended families, close friends and neighbors, who were so supportive during his journey. 

What Tom (Tommy Joe as he was lovingly called) enjoyed most in life was spending time with his family, especially his 4 grandsons, attending their school functions and many sporting events.  He also enjoyed giving cooking lessons to the boys, summer barbeques,  family beach vacations, many hours sharing his childhood stories and memories.  He was known for his quick wit, and great sense of humor, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone everywhere he went.  He leaves us with countless memories and is an inspiration for us all.  His stories, wisdom, and most especially his love and devotion, leaves us with a lasting impression that will forever be in our hearts. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 13, at 10:00 am, at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 37 Fayette Street, Binghamton.  The family will receive friends at THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC.  137 Robinson Street, Binghamton on Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the dedicated teams at the Newton-Wellesley Cancer Center, Guthrie Cancer Center, Guthrie Hospice, and Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
