Thomas Marcello, 91, died peacefully at New York State Veterans Home at Oxford, NY on August 4, 2025. He is predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Elena (Rubiconti) Marcello; his sister and brother-in-law, Albert and Maria Martino; and baby sister, Carmella Marcello.
He is survived by his sister, Alice Marcello Kocik (Joe Kocik) of Endicott, NY and brother, Paul Marcello (Catherine) of Las Vegas, NV. He was devoted to three generations of nieces and nephews and had many friends and golf buddies. He was loyal and generous to all who knew him.
Thomas was an Army Veteran; he served during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. He worked in Code Enforcement for the City of Binghamton for 26 years where he was President of the Civil Service Forum.
Thomas enjoyed exercising and was an avid runner and golfer. He also followed sports of all kinds, particularly his beloved Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, Binghamton Rumble Ponies, and Binghamton University Bearcats basketball.
He was also active in the community, as a member of the Post 80 Legion, the Sons of Italy, and Saints John and Andrew Catholic Church. And he donated his time to Toys for Tots and the Binghamton Boys and Girls Clubs.
Thomas requested that anyone who’d like to honor his memory donate to Danielle House, 160 Riverside Dr. Binghamton, NY 13905.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Saints John and Andrew Catholic Church in Binghamton. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.
