Timothy T. Coffey

Tim Coffey died August 19, 2021 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York of multiple organ failure.  Tim is the beloved son of Joe and Margaret Coffey and leaves behind his parents and three siblings, Erin (Sara), David and Tobin.  Also five nieces and a nephew: Mia Ryan, Amya Ryan, Dominic Ryan, Payton Coffey and Lucy Piatek,  In addition, he is survived by five aunts and uncles as well as many cousins and loyal friends from Binghamton and New York City.   
Tim was a graduate of Binghamton High School and attended Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and Binghamton University.  He was a Stagehand in New York City and proud member of Theatrical Stage Employee, Local 1.  He worked at many venues and most recently at Carnegie Hall.  
Tim was a voracious reader and a seasoned traveler to many places including Cuba, China, Africa, Central American and throughout the USA.  Tim enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, snorkeling, kayaking and bicycling.  Tim biked from Binghamton to California alone – just to prove he could do it, of course he and his bike flew home. 
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 27 from 4pm to 7pm at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc, 137 Robinson St., Binghamton NY 13904. A Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, August 28 at 10am. 
Donations in Tim’s memory can be made to Samaritan House, Danielle House, the Actors Fund (729 Seventh Avenue, NY, NY 10019) or a charity of your choice.
