Timothy J. Osborn, 73, Binghamton- beloved husband and father, passed away after a courageous 6 year battle with the dreaded Alzheimer's Disease on December 17, 2023. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him forever. Tim was born in Endicott, NY, son of the late Claude and Josephine Osborn; also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Bruno and Sarah DelVillano. Tim attended Broome Community College and proudly served his country in the US Air Force with a rank of Sergeant in the Military Police at Rhein -Main AFB. Tim's life work was mostly in law enforcement and security, working as a part time patrolman for the Johnson City Police Department, then in the Security division at IBM for 20 plus years. Tim re-invented himself many times after that, trying his hand as a 911 dispatcher for Broome County, and Sentry Alarms, CNA at Willow Point Nursing Home and a Counselor for Catholic Charities, only to return to his love of security at Securitas Security Services. Tim was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, the AOH and a current member of the American Legion, Post 1645 and the AM Vets. He also ran for Town of Union Supervisor in the 80's. As a true Irishman, growing up on the North Side of Endicott, Tim could be found at the homes of his many Italian friends, as he loved Italians and Italian food. Anyone who knew him knows he had the gift of gab and could tell a joke like no other. He was the first one people came to for emcee of the party. The man could make you laugh. If you were his friend, you knew you had someone that would do anything for you. He was also a person who would help a stranger in need.
Tim is survived of his loving wife of 32 years Barbara, his children, the pride of his life, Daniel and Clare, his wonderful brothers and sisters in-law who helped us care for him, Robert and Alice DelVillano, Julie and Sandy Morris, Madeline and Scott Hawley and Judy DelVillano; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. A special thank you to the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford for their loving care of Tim for the past 16 months. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at the Church of Saints John and Andrew in Binghamton at 11:30am. Burial will be at a later date with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim's memory can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, or the BC Humane Society.
