Celebrating the Life of Victor Elderkin
Victor Elderkin, a devoted grandfather, passionate outdoorsman, and a master of all trades. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy as vast as the trails he loved to hike. Victor was, above all else, a man who found his peace in nature. An avid hiker and true outdoorsman, he was happiest when walking beneath a canopy of trees, conquering a challenging trail, or simply taking in the quiet beauty of the wilderness. He possessed a deep respect for the natural world—a passion he eagerly shared with everyone around him.
When he wasn’t on the trails, Victor could almost always be found working with his hands. A remarkably talented handyman, there was truly nothing he couldn’t build, fix, or improve. He approached every project with patience, ingenuity, and a generous spirit, always ready to lend his tools and his expertise to help family, friends, and neighbors alike.
Of all the titles Victor held throughout his rich life, his favorite was undoubtedly "Grandfather." He poured boundless love, wisdom, and humor into his family. Whether he was teaching the younger generations how to navigate a trail, handle a tool, or simply appreciate the practical beauties of life. His presence was a constant source of strength and guidance. His stories, warmth, and his steady, reliable nature will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of his grandchildren.
Victor is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Elderkin and family Bruce Elderkin, Bonnie Elderkin, Steve Elderkin, Sally Elderkin, David Elderkin, June Crow, Ted Crow, Marian Hammond. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Weber and family Vicki and Glen Grosso, Alecia and Jake Evans, Justine, Ryan and Cali Conner, Jarod, Alexis and Giovanni Grosso, Caroline and Blake Klessig, Valerie Chrisitian, Anthony Christian, Christine, Steve, Alexis and Michael Doty, Bob Crow, Kurt and Cheryl Weber, Mark and Darcie Weber, Brenton Rueffer and several nieces, nephews, and his many friends who were of great importance to him.
Victor’s spirit lives on in every rustling leaf on the trail, every completed project, and the enduring love of the family and friends he treasured so dearly.

Special words Victor wanted to share after his passing.
Words to live by:
“Speak naught but kindly words
Hear only what is fair,
Look for the best in all you see
And you will find it there.”

Words for the Departing:
“Give me your hand. We have to cross
the river and my strength fails me.
Hold me as if I were an abandoned
package in a wicker basket, a lump
that moves and Cries in the twilight.
Cross the river with me. Even if this
time the waters don’t part before us.
Even if this time God doesn’t come to
Our aid and a flurry of arrows riddles
our backs. Even if there is no river.
