Virginia H. Joseph, 100, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 28, 2021.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years George E. Joseph. They had two sons, George Thomas (Lorri) Joseph of Binghamton, NY; Vincent D. (Linda) Joseph of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Michele Joseph, AZ, Matthew (Lori) Joseph of New Jersey, Justin (Amanda) Joseph of Windsor, NY; daughter in-law Judith Joseph, of New Jersey and a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
She was a graduate of Tate, GA High School, Georgia; Milligeville State Hospital, GA with a RN Degree in Nursing. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp, WWII, (where she met her husband of 70 years). She retired from the Broome County Health Department. She was a founding member of St. Andrew’s church; and she was a member of St. John/Andrew Church in Binghamton, NY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday May 8, 2021 from 9 until 10am at STS. John and Andrew Church in Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10am, with Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory can be made to STS John and Andrew’s Church of its food pantry.
