William James Gilmore, Sr.

William James Gilmore 85 passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021 with his family by his side.  He was predeceased by his parents William and Beatrice Gilmore; his loving wife of 52 years Nancy and his daughter Susan Behnke.  He is survived by his children Kimberly (Richard) Wheeler and William James Jr. (Corina) Gilmore; grandchildren , Ryan Behnke, Katie and Chelsea Wheeler, Molly Benack and Analese Gilmore; great grandchildren Lincoln, Tenley, Hudson, Emma and Lucas. Also surviving  are his brothers Thomas (Linda) Gilmore and Joseph (Geri) Gilmore.  Born in Binghamton, NY Jim grew up on Binghamton’s East Side.  He was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and attended Harpur College.  He was employed for several years at Link Aviation in Hillcrest. In 1969 Jim began employment at IBM until his retirement.  Jim Loved to golf, bowl and fish. He also enjoyed playing cards and “playing the horses” He was a wonderful father and grandfather who always enjoyed hearing of his children and grandchildren’s adventures in life.  The family will receive friends at St. Pauls’ Episcopal Church in Endicott on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 10am to 11am. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
