Maria N. Stenta

Maria N. Stenta 88, of Binghamton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 12, 2019. She is predeceased by her parents Antonio and Piacentina D’Angelo; husband Romeo Stenta; sister in-laws Doretta and Livia; brother in-law Nicola; mother and father in-law Antonio and Antonietta Stenta; great-grandson Antonino Di Loreto. She is survived by her daughter Antonietta and Carmuele Di Loreto of Binghamton; son Antonio and Paola Stenta of Binghamton; grandchildren Antoinette and Jerry Gilbride of Binghamton, Josie  and Derik Lusht of Endicott, Giuseppe and Sarah Di Loreto of Binghamton, NY, Nino and Christina Stenta of Binghamton, Sonya Stenta; great-grandchildren Cassandra, Trenton, Austin, Aria, Enzo, Giavanna, Alannah, Mariano, Mara, Romeo; brothers Ferdinando and Lidia D’Angelo and Silvio D’Angelo of Italy; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born in Italy and came to America in 1967. She worked at Dunn McCarthy Shoe Factory, Lander Company and finished working at Pronto’s Restaurant. Maria was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for the family. Her grandchildren are her pride and joy, she will be dearly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at General Hospital ICU for their loving care.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 until 7 at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton, NY. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
