Dawn Coudriet Obituary

Dawn M. (Buell) Coudriet, age 63 of Vestal, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday March 21, 2023, after a brief illness.  She has received the heavenly reward promised to all who put their faith in Jesus.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Joseph L. Coudriet III of Vestal, NY, 6  children and 13 grandchildren: Joseph L. Coudriet IV (daughters Zoë, Chayyah, and River), Francis W. Coudriet (wife Lilia, daughters Nina, Mila, and Anya),  Joshua J. Coudriet (wife Meghan, children Joshua, Liam, and Olivia), Caleb (deceased 2/14/88), Elijah J. Coudriet (wife Jacqueline, children Noah and Gianna), and Rosina (Rorie) Williams (Terris Michael, children Eloise and Judah).  She is also survived by her parents Francis and Rosina Buell, sister Cindi (Shawn) Conway and brothers Jeffrey (Christine) Buell and Christopher Buell.

Dawn worked in ministry for 22 years at Abundant Life Church in Syracuse before establishing Family Life Church in Vestal, NY in 2011 where she served as Co-Pastor. She was an anointed communicator of God’s Word, author of three illustrated children’s books, and a spiritual advisor to women of all ages.

In life, Dawn prioritized relationships.  When her children were young, she would take a day out of each month to spend with them individually, just to make them feel special.  This one-on-one time continued with her children even into adulthood.  She valued moments of conversation with her sister, her mother, the women of her church.  Dawn also cherished time with her grandchildren and demonstrated her love for them at every moment, whether in gifts or words of praise or at tea parties and sleepovers or at any get together for which she could make an excuse … which was frequently.

Dawn and her husband Joe also valued their time together.  They were constant companions, and, when not serving their family and others in ministry, the two of them could be found trekking across the US, Europe, and Dawn’s favorite, Israel.  ‘Jerusalem calls me,’ she said during the last month of her life.

But – to her family’s sorrow and her eternal joy – Jesus called her above all else.  Years ago, Dawn prayed that she would be remembered as ‘Beloved Daughter of the Most High, Minister of Love.’  Her family will always remember her as such, this loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend who made Jesus the center of her life.

A Celebration of Life In Christ will take place on Monday March 27 at 3:30pm with calling hours prior from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Family Life Church, 157 Clark Street, Vestal, NY 13850.  The service will also be available on the Family Life Church YouTube and Facebook pages.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, tax deductible contributions to Family Life Church in Dawn’s name will be designated to Pastor Dawn’s Projects.
