William R. Jayne

William R. Jayne, 85, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Mildred Jayne; sisters Madge Bergman, Tilly Burns, Frances Ray and Veronica Carter; and grandson Robert Jayne. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Lynne Jayne; his children Brian Jayne, Randy Jayne, Laurie Markoff, Tina Jayne, Kenneth Jayne; grandchildren Kandice, Heather, Tiffinie, Sonia, Kyle, Molly; sisters Beverly Westbrook and Gloria Jayne; brother Lewis Jayne; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bill worked at the Binghamton Psychiatric Center for over 35 years. He was a loving, supportive husband, father and friend, known as one funny guy who could be stubborn at times. Loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation on Thursday February 9, 2023 from 11:30am to 1pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Broome County Humane Society.
