William Butts

William E.  Butts, 67, of Binghamton died peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his daughters' residence after a long battle with cancer.  He is survived by his daughters  Jennifer Butts and Michelle Butts both of Binghamton; his partner of 27 years Maggie Cross; ex-wife Beverly Butts; brothers Charles Butts of Binghamton, Robert Butts of Montrose, PA, John Butts of Bellflower, CA; nieces and nephews Jeffrey Angevine of Binghamton, Richard Butts of Murrieta CA, Heather Sacco of Binghamton, David Butts of Binghamton, and  Amy Testa of Clifton Park NY; cousins Patricia Trusten, Rita Anderson and Ann Barthlomycyz; special buddy Dennis O'Brien and many other friends.  He served in the United Stated Army and continued a career in the reserves for 25 years.  He was a lifelong East-Sider who lived and loved life on his own terms; he will be greatly missed by all.   A very special thank you to all the healthcare professionals who took wonderful care of our Dad; VA Clinic in Binghamton Bonnie Bielecki, Upstate Medical Dr. Jesse Ryan, Vestal Park Nursing Center and Lourdes Hospice.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Friday (Billy's Birthday) February 24, 2017 at St. Paul's Church in Binghamton.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until 11am.  Military Honors will be held following the mass.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson St., Binghamton, NY 13904.
